The effects of ‘Lock-down 2’ were acutely apparent at the Remembrance Day and Armistice Day ceremonies this year.

With would be attendees asked to pay their respects from their home doorsteps.

On Wednesday, November 11, 2020, a short ceremony took place at Bedford’s War Memorial on the Embankment to commemorate those who had fallen in service to their country.

The Last Post was played which was followed by the customary two minutes silence and then the national anthem.

We can do nothing but hope next year the ‘new-normal’ will allow for the more traditional services to take place.
