Sustainable Bedford are putting on another online sustainability week for the whole of Bedford and local areas nearby

“At a time of uncertainty in the world, we must continue to push the environmental message across (even if we are stuck at home), and make a difference.”

This mostly virtual event, is being organised by Sustainable Bedford. It will aim to have lots of events being held during the event period run by local businesses, groups, schools and charities.

All these events will come under the environmental sustainable categories such as zero waste and more.

Cory Walker, coordinator for Sustainable Bedford says: “The week is entirely about living sustainably whether that be on how to eat healthily or to reduce your waste – there will be a great variety of events taking place”

“We held the first sustainability week back in May, which was a great success, with several articles being produced for our social media, a live Facebook talk and some workshops.”

“This time, we want to see more people getting involved and we have already announced some of our line up on our website and social media pages with more being announced during each week leading up to Bedford Sustainability Week.”

The line up so far:

  • Bedfordshire Climate Change Forum are organising a screening of Kiss the Ground.
  • Isabel Mack from Reusable Party Kit Network CIC is giving a talk about reusable party kits
  • Natalie Pearson (who is a PHD Researcher) will be running a talk about Food waste prevention in the hospitality industry
  • Made in Bedford are holding a socially distanced Artisan Market on December 13, in St Pauls Square Bedford

People can get involved in so many ways, that could be by getting children and young people to create a piece of artwork with recycled materials such as bottle tops etc, or how about you becoming a speaker and giving a talk?

Bedford Sustainability Week will be from December 7-13, 2020
