Bedford Town Football Club can confirm that tonight’s FA Trophy trip to Alfreton Town is postponed.

This morning they received the unfortunate news that a Bedford Town player has tested positive for COVID-19.

The player had trained with other players on Saturday, and featured in the FA Trophy win at Biggleswade Town last week.

As a consequence, the club have taken the action to advise all players and management to isolate, and all members have taken COVID tests this morning.

The club have been speaking to Alfreton and the FA this morning. They have come to the agreement to postpone tonight’s fixture.

The Eagles are currently seeking advice from Public Health England and await the results of the COVID tests the squad have taken today.

Should it be deemed that they can safely participate in the fixture, it will take place on Saturday.

The club will make a decision on whether this is feasible, as soon as possible.

Finally, they would like to thank Alfreton for their understanding and assistance with this.
