At approximately 8.10pm on Friday January 22, the victim was in Purley Park when he noticed he was being followed by two men.

The victim heard a loud bang before he realised he was injured. He was taken to hospital, and his injuries are not life threatening.

“This happened in a place where there are lots of shops and vehicles in the area.

“Although our enquiries are at an early stage, we believe this was an isolated incident with no risk to the wider public.”
