The former CEO of the Post Office has resigned her roles on the boards of directors at Morrisons and Dunelm following the IT issues which saw 39 sub postmasters face prosecution and financial hardship.

Ms Vennells has also relinquished her roles at St Owens Church, Bromham.

She lives in Kempston Rural at Rushey Ford House (pictured above).

Ms Vennells was the CEO at the Post Office between 2012 and 2019, when the IT scandal was being played out.

On Friday, April 23, 39 former Postmasters saw their criminal convictions overturned by the Court of Appeal.

The convictions had been based on the software system called Horizon, which showed discrepancies in the sub-postmasters’ accounts. The IT system was installed in 1999 under former CEO John Roberts.

Appeals are expected by other Sub Postmaster who have suffered financial hardship and criminal records.
