Residents of Bedford Borough will soon have the opportunity to pass judgement on the performance of the current mayor and members of the Borough Council.
In May 2023 elections will be held to select a new mayor and councillors for the next four years.
Local Conservatives have announced Cllr Tom Wootton as their chosen candidate for the position of directly elected mayor.
Cllr Wootton who manages his family’s farm at Ravensden has been a member of the local council for 20 years.
