New headteacher for local SEND school in Kempston

St John’s School in Kempston has recruited Charlotte Wood as their new headteacher. St John’s is an over subscribed SEND school catering for pupils with severe learning, medical and physical difficulties for pupils 2-19 years of age.

Catherine Assink, CEO of Bedford Inclusive Learning and Training Trust (BILTT) said: “I am thrilled to announce that we have finally, successfully recruited to the position of Headteacher at St John’s School.

“After an extremely rigorous interview process, we are delighted to welcome Charlotte Wood as our new substantive Headteacher. Charlotte joins us with a wealth of essential leadership experience within a range of educational contexts.

“Coupled with her outstanding leadership experience, her commitment to enhancing the quality of education and her commitment to staff and pupils, we look forward to the future of St John’s”

“As part of BILTT’s vision to ensure all our pupils are getting the best possible education and enhancing their life chances, we know that Charlotte as  Headteacher at the helm, alongside her dedicated and excellent staff team, will be essential for the success of the school.”

Charlotte, commenting on her new role, said: “I am really looking forward to working with BILTT pupils and colleagues, the local community, Bedford authority and all other St John’s stakeholders.”
