Biggleswade FC 4 – 3 Hadley FC

Saturday, November 25 – League

Biggleswade hosted Hadley on Saturday afternoon at the Eyrie in one of the games of the season.

Since the loss of striker Pemi Aderoju to Peterborough United they have struggled for goals, however, it looks like that could be a thing of the past as they handed a first start to Cambridge United loanee Amaru Kaunda in what proved to be a debut to be remembered.

It took just 8 minutes for him to make his mark, some great build up play saw Adam Hunt to pick him out in the middle and the Cambridge United youngster cooly put the ball away.

He then put FC two up on 14 mins when the keeper failed to clear, the ball broke and he tucked it away for his second.

Hadley pulled one back but then Kaunda got his hat trick inside the half hour to put FC 3-1 up. This time a great through ball saw him round the keeper and restore the two goal advantage.

Hadley once again showed why there near the top of the league as they once again cut the deficit in half before the break and leave the hosts 3-2 up in what was a frantic first 45.

The second half was less so, Alex Marsh looked to have secured the points for the home side when he made it 4-2, Kaunda this time providing the assist with the through ball, now it was Marsh’s turn to round the keeper and secure the points.

Hadley again did pull one back before the end but FC held on for a well-deserved and welcome three points.

MOM: Amaru Kaunda
